Do I need a referral for services?
Our office will verify your insurance for you when you book your first appointment and notify you of need for referral or authorization. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier.

How long will my appointments be?
The initial appointment will take approximately one hour. Medication management appointments usually take 15-30 minutes. Therapy appointments are 50 minutes.

Do you do court ordered treatment?
At this time, we do not provide court ordered treatment. Please check with the court for a list of approved providers.

Can you get records from my previous therapist or psychiatrist?
If you have previously received treatment, you may ask that provider for a release of information to have your records released to our office. We can also have you sign a release at your first appointment.

Do we use income based pricing?
We do offer discounts for cash payments.

What will my co-pay be?
Please contact your insurance carrier for this information as your mental health benefits will differ from most medical benefits.

What type of services do you provide?
Our office provides a wide range of services for children ages 6 through adults and geriatric patients. This includes marriage and family therapy, individual psychotherapy, and medication evaluation and management.

How often will I need to be seen?
This varies depending on the severity of your symptoms. In the beginning, you and your treatment provider may decide that you need to be seen weekly. Most patients who are stable on medications are seen every 3-6 months.

How do I refill my medications?
Please contact your pharmacy and they will contact our office. Most refill requests will be completed the same day.

Does your office keep appointments for emergencies?
Most emergencies can be managed by calling our office during business hours. After hours, a doctor on call is available by calling the Physician’s Exchange at 262-6262. If you are experiencing an urgent need, please call 911 or the Via Christi St Joseph Psychiatric Assessment Center is available 24 hours a day.

Does your office accept credit card payments by phone?
Yes our office will accept payment by Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards.
